Citizens Of The Year, 2020 – Thank You Frontline Workers!

Message from the President:

It has been an unbelievable year. Nobody could have foreseen what we would have to live through during 2020.

We started the new year with certain goals and plans and we realized quickly that we had to make changes and adapt.

COVID-19 took us by storm, our businesses by storm, our families by storm, our community by storm.

We had to hunker down.  We had to do our part.  We had to wear masks and still do.  We had to physically distance ourselves and still do.

Here we are in December.  Christmas is here and it will look different from other years.

We still have to do our part and we still have to hunker down.  We still have to wear our masks and we still have to physically distance.

Throughout this whole pandemic there have been individuals that have stepped up.  They have put their lives on the line and they have risked their own health to look after us, to care for us, to serve us, and to save us in an emergency situation.

These are an amazing group of people.  Who are these people? They are the Frontline workers in our community.

Those that get up each and every day willing to risk everything to ensure that patients are cared for, 911 calls are answered, our children are cared for, deliveries are made and food is on the table and the list goes on.

The Ingersoll District Chamber of Commerce wishes to recognize all of our Frontline workers and has selected them as the 2020 Citizens of the Year.

It is because of these folks that we are able to live.  We are so thankful for our essential workers and we appreciate everything they have done for us.

Congratulations to all of our Frontline workers, you are the 2020 Citizens of the Year!

They have continued to do their part, let us continue to do ours.  There is light at the end of the tunnel.

In the meantime, let’s continue to be diligent and work together as a community and take the necessary precautions so that everyone can remain safe and healthy.

Wishing all of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Update to add: We’re sorry that we weren’t able to include every frontline worker in this video, especially paramedics. We’re grateful to every frontline worker in our community, and apologize for anyone who wasn’t included.
